Updates...

There should have been a 22 week and a 24 week update. We had another Ultrasound at 22 weeks, where we saw the baby's heart. We were also told that the tech thought we will be having a girl (she said she was 85 to 90% certain). So, we went from that appointment to register at Target (guess what color the stuff was?). It was fun.

We got another call that the Doctor wanted another Ultrasound in 2 weeks because my fluids were on the low side of normal. So, this Monday, we had a regular doctor's appointment where the baby's heart beat was in the middle of the normal range at 140 beats per minute. Then, we went in the afternoon for the ultrasound. It was a pretty quick appointment. She said that my fluid levels were where they were before. Not more, which would have been great, but not less either, which would have been not good. She said that she saw the baby's heart, which looked good, it had fluids in it's stomach and bladder (which means it's kidneys are working) and everything else looked fine. Also, it was also her opinion that we are having a girl. She said the baby's legs were really close together but "saw no evidence to lead her to believe it is a boy".

So, as we expected we'll be going back for another ultrasound to keep an eye on everything. It doesn't have to be for four weeks. So, I'll have my next regular doctor's visit on Aug 3 and the next ultrasound on Aug 6.

I guess we've shown Hope to issue us a challenge. A while back she asked if I was trying to beat her record for ultrasounds (she had 4 with H) and I soooo have her beat already! (four going on 5 already!)

We tried signing up for a birth/parenting class at Mercy online. I have to say the process for signing up is really stupid. You submit something online, they mail you something, you send it in and then you are registered. What kind of place are they running there? (Yes it is an Allina Hospital) :-) They called today to say the class was full when it's being held in the auditorium (ummm holds 300 people and I've talked to about 100 employees in there about their benefits). I should tell them they are on their own with their annual benefit enrollment and their information online will be all wrong unless they find some room for us! Okay, it won't work but it's funny to think about. I guess a second option may be to try to sign up for a different day. (That seems much too simple.)
